Dear John,

It’s been two years since the pandemic began in New York, where our state has lost over 67,000 lives to Covid-19. A disproportionate number of those losses were frontline Black and brown essential workers who risked their health to care and provide for everyday New Yorkers.

Yet, despite incalculable devastation and loss, workers continued to fight for a safe and healthy workplace. On Wednesday, March 16th at 7 PM, join us for the State of the Worker Townhall to hear essential workers reflect and look ahead to what’s next for workplace safety from Covid-19 and beyond.

Join us in the State of the Worker Townhall and support their call to continue funding the NY HERO Act. Essential workers from across the state will share more about the state of the workplace and how the NY HERO Act will continue to protect workers. With the NY HERO state of emergency designation set to expire this month, workers will also call on NYS to continue the designation as well as fund enforcement efforts of the law.

The pandemic is not over, and we must be prepared to prevent unnecessary sickness and death. Join the State of the Worker Townhall to learn and discuss how we can continue fighting for worker protections.

In solidarity,

Maritza Silva-Farrell
