YIMBY Action is proud to sponsor Assembly Bill 2053 by Alex Lee (D-San José), also known as the Social Housing Act of 2022. As a chapter of YIMBY Action, SF YIMBY is calling on all San Franciscans to ask the Board of Supervisors to support AB 2053.

AB 2053 promises to build social housing, and will meaningfully address our housing crisis by building social housing: mixed-income housing with strong tenant protections and permanent affordability for residents, owned by a public entity or non-profit. It's crucial that the state legislature passes this bill to create more housing for all San Francisco residents. That process starts with us telling the SF Board of Supervisors to support the bill.

This Tuesday, March 15, the SF Board of Supervisors will hold a full board meeting. Please take one minute to send an email to the Board of Supervisors urging them to support AB 2053. We've filled in the email for you to make it easy for you.

In addition, we're asking all San Franciscans to call and give public comment on Tuesday to support AB 2053. Public comment will occur during the afternoon on Tuesday, sometime after 2 PM. When you sign up for updates, we'll let you know when it's time to call in.
