SEA SHEPHERD LAUNCHES AMAZON EXPEDITION
Boto Expedition II Begins March 20, 2022
BRAZIL - The Boto Expedition II, a partnership with Sea Shepherd Brazil and the National Institute for Research in the Amazon (INPA), maps the populational health of Amazon river dolphins across 1100 km in four areas of the Amazon basin. The data from the expedition will guide the protection efforts of the Amazon and Tucuxi Dolphin, two iconic species at risk of extinction due to their use as bait for the illegal practice of piracatinga fishing.
You can be part of this Expedition! Join us for an engaging, informative series of discussions with a month-long social media campaign that brings YOU into this campaign. We will dig into the issues, the challenges, and how Sea Shepherd is mobilizing YOUR support to address some of the most pressing ecological challenges in the world. As a Boto Expedition II special offer, visit Sea Shepherd’s merchandise store during the expedition at shop.seashepherd.org to get 10% off all purchases between March 16 and April 16 with the code word “BOTO.”
