I'll be honest with you: our primary election in just over three months will test the strength of our team.

We're going to be up against brutal machine politics, an establishment-backed opponent who's outraised us thanks to corporate donors, and dark money super PACs that can spend unlimited amounts against us. But despite all this, the latest poll has our race exactly tied.

We can push Marie into the lead if we can get our message out to every Democratic voter, but we MUST meet our fundraising goals in order to have the resources. Right now, we're still $4,832 away from our mid-month goal. Will you rush a donation so we can get there by Tuesday?

Why are so many entrenched interests determined to beat Marie? They know she doesn't take marching orders from them, and that she's not afraid to get results for her constituents by taking on the status quo.

If Marie listened to special interests, she wouldn't have supported economic relief that brought back jobs for Chicagoans. If she listened to special interests, she wouldn't have been able to reduce train blockages and delays in the district. If Marie listened to special interests, she wouldn't have continued to help make sure that environmental justice, healthcare for all, and workers' rights remain front-and-center in policy discussions among the Democratic caucus.

Marie's shown that you can get things done and stick to your values. That terrifies a lot of people in power, and they're gearing up to give her a huge challenge in the months ahead.
