John,
Methane emissions are a major source of harmful climate pollution, by some
estimates, responsible for 25% of the warming we're experiencing today.
And a huge source of these emissions comes from factory farming — with
animal agriculture responsible for 36 percent of all U.S. methane
emissions, even more than the oil and gas industry itself.
Cutting methane emissions from animal agriculture provides us with a huge
opportunity to immediately slow increased greenhouse gas emissions… and
that’s why the Environmental Protection Agency must act now.

We must drastically cut methane emissions to slow the rate of warming and
avert the worst climate outcomes.
That’s why it’s past time for the EPA to enforce limits on methane
pollution from factory farms.
By advancing new rules that strengthen existing emissions requirements
from animal agriculture, we can significantly slash methane pollution and
address one of the biggest contributors to the climate crisis.
