John — A just-released report shows extreme weather affected more than 14.5 million homes across the United States in 2021.
That’s a shocking 1 in 10 homes that were impacted by weather disasters. The CoreLogic report estimates these weather events caused $56.92 billion in property damage.
It’s another example of the devastating toll hurricanes, floods, and wildfires take because of climate change.
Among the report’s conclusions, it was found that:
*
The
2021
deep
freeze
paralyzed
the
central
U.S.
in
February
and
resulted
in
$15
billion
in
property
damage
on
12,764,941
homes,
the
most
of
any
natural
disaster;
*
Hurricanes
caused

damage
to
1,233,860
homes;
*
Wildfires
were
responsible
for
$1.46

in

to

homes.
The
Dixie

was
the

burning
nearly
one

acres
and
destroying
more
than
1,300
structures.
These 2021 disasters are not just bad luck. They result from our lack of action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions causing a rapidly warming planet and a rapidly changing climate. And as this past year has shown, no corner of our country is safe from these threats.
We live with the consequences of climate inaction right now, John.
It’s too late to turn back the clock, but it’s not too late to take decisive action to mitigate the future effects of climate change. We need to get serious about protecting communities suffering from these disasters.
That’s why we are asking you to donate to SEEC PAC today so we can fully fund our Members of Congress who are working around the clock to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the impacts of climate change. [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
