I’ve been working hard in the Senate to pass legislation that addresses the issues that matter most — like my bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), that would protect a person’s reproductive rights and guarantee equal access to abortion, no matter where they live.
As state legislatures across the nation pass laws that restrict access to critical, life-saving reproductive care, passing this bill to protect Roe v. Wade and codify its protections into federal law couldn’t have been more important — but recently, every single Republican Senator opposed our efforts to do so. But team, I’m not giving up on this critical fight.
It’s becoming more clear than ever that in order to make the progress our working families are counting on, we need to expand our Senate majority — and we have an opportunity to flip a seat right here in Wisconsin.
The American people didn’t elect the first Democratic-controlled Congress in over a decade for us to stall on our agenda. It’s time we deliver on the progress the majority of Americans want — like the WHPA — by protecting and expanding our slim Democratic majorities and furthering the fight for progress.
