John,

It is all too common for corporations like Amazon, Walmart or McDonalds to
donate to establishment Democrats in Congress, but in IL-7 there is a
special situation. Representative Danny Davis was the 3rd most corporate
funded Democrat in Congress last election cycle. In fact 73% of his money
came from Corporate PACs. That is why we need Kina Collins in Congress,
and why Justice Democrats is behind her 100%.

While most candidates for Congress are attending fundraisers and making
calls to donors, Kina Collins is in the streets — at Amazon warehouse
walkouts, protests for police accountability, and standing in solidarity
with Starbucks and McDonalds employees demanding a living wage. That’s how
AOC, Jamaal Bowman, and Cori Bush defeated out-of-touch incumbents, and
how we’re going to defeat a 25-year incumbent and send Kina Collins to
replace him.

Running for Congress without corporate money is hard, but Kina knows that
you can either represent corporations or you can represent the people.

race so she can be a real representative to working-class Chicagoans?

The Illinois 7th is a district that has been left behind. It suffers from
closing schools and hospitals, crumbling infrastructure, and lack of gun
control. It’s become clear that Chicagoans don’t need a status quo
Congressman who doesn’t show up for work, they need a fighter like Kina
Collins.

When Kina was 8 years old, she witnessed a shooting in front of her house.
She knew the victim and she knew the shooters. From that day she has
devoted her life to organizing to fight the underlying causes of gun
violence. In 2014, she helped lead the fight for accountability in the
police murder of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, and just a month ago, was
arrested after protesting the early release of his killer. Recently she
has been the executive director of the largest Gun Violence Prevention
non-profit in Illinois.

Kina is a working-class organizer running for Congress because the people
closest to the pain should be closest to the power. [ [link removed] ]If you agree, can
you make a contribution directly to Kina Collins?
