John – the most important lesson I ever learned about politics came from my grandfather, who served as a lieutenant in the Dubuque Fire Department. 

Fighting fires and serving in public office are two pretty different life paths, but my grandfather taught me a lesson that is true for both. At the end of the day, doing good by the people you serve always comes down to this: show up, help people and do your job.

During my time in the Iowa Legislature and in Congress, I did everything I could to help Iowans and do the job they sent me to Washington to do. Within two weeks of being sworn into office, I became the youngest woman to pass a bill through the U.S. House with my legislation to help small businesses – all during a government shutdown.

I spent the rest of my time in Congress pushing for bills to help families back home in Iowa, working across the aisle and doing the hard work it takes to overcome the gridlock in Washington. 

Now, I'm running for U.S. Senate because Iowans deserve a leader who knows that service means you show up, you help people and you do your job.

You see, Sen. Grassley has spent 47 years in Washington failing to do his job, failing to show up for us when it counts and failing to help the people who elected him. He has let Iowans down time and time again – on affordable healthcare, protections for unions and so much more.

It's no wonder that Sen. Grassley is facing record-low approval ratings, and experts are warning that he's got a "tough race" ahead of him. We have a real chance to win here, but the GOP is already raising millions to defeat challengers like me. I need you to have my back on this one.
