Summits are a core part of Arena’s origin story. In 2016, when many felt lost and fearful, our co-founders hosted a Summit to bring rising leaders together to connect in service of improving our democracy. Out of that Summit, Arena was formed, organizations were created, campaigns were launched, and lasting connections were built. Since then, we’ve held five summits reaching over 2,500 attendees.
At prior Summits, we featured thought leaders such as Lauren Underwood, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, Jason Kander, DeRay Mckesson, Pete Buttigieg, Jennifer Granholm, Martin O’Malley, and Brian Deese.
The Austin Summit is a chance for newly energized leaders and seasoned politicos to connect and reunite in person after two years of remote meetings and conferences. The event will feature speeches from inspiring thought leaders; training on how to advance environmental justice, reproductive rights, and voting rights in Texas; and time to socialize and network.
The Summit will be June 11 and 12 in Austin. It's a chance to connect with like-minded people and fine-tune how to make an impact in your community.

What is the Austin Arena Academy + Summit? |
|
The Austin Arena Academy + Summit is a three-day crash course from June 8-10 combined with the Austin Summit June 11-12 designed to equip current and aspiring campaign staff with the skills they need to build winning campaigns. No academic degree prepares you to work on a campaign, but Arena Academy does.
At Arena Academy, we train seven tracks: Campaign Management, Communications, Data, Digital, Finance, Organizing, and Organizing Director. You’ll learn from the best in the business, and after Arena Academy, you’ll gain access to bespoke job search support, including resume and interviewing coaching and referrals for jobs.
After the three-day Arena Academy training concludes the cohort will head to the Austin Summit for a deep dive into the major policy issues in 2022, including training on how to advance environmental justice, reproductive justice, and voting rights in Texas. The Summit is a great chance to learn more about specific policy areas, network, and maybe even land your next role. Incredible things happen at Summits; Congresswoman Lauren Underwood found her first campaign manager at a Summit back in 2017.

Registration for Arena Academy costs $300 and covers Arena Academy and the Austin Summit. Full participation in Arena Academy includes attending the three day training and the two day Austin Summit from June 8-12. Registration, travel, and accommodation scholarships are available.
