John,
We wanted to share an exciting update with you about Color Of Change’s first-ever Black History Now Awards. Thanks to the support of members like you, we were able to hold a space to recognize and uplift Black joy and resistance in the face of right-wing attacks on our education system. If you weren’t able to tune in, you can click here to watch the full footage of the awards!
In addition to live performances, trivia games, and poetry readings, the Black History Now Awards gave local educators, students, parents, and activists a platform to discuss their efforts to fight back against conservative attempts to erase Black history from our classrooms — which will help inspire and equip others with the tools to take action in their communities.
We know that more truth in education leads to more equity in society — that’s why powerful interests are working so hard to spread misinformation about the good progress we’ve made when it comes to teaching students about the role of race and racism in our country and in our lives. Black history IS American history, and we won’t stop working to ensure that our stories are told to aid us all in the struggle for a racially just world.
It’s not too late to support our ongoing work to ensure that Black history is preserved and passed on to present and future generations — make a gift of $10 or more today to fuel Color Of Change’s campaigns for education justice:

Community is powerful, John. We’re deeply grateful for your support.
Until Justice Is Real,
