John,

We’ll get straight to the point: The Biden administration will NOT appeal the decision by a federal judge to halt a large oil lease sale in the Gulf of Mexico.

The court’s decision will have the Department of the Interior reconsider the environmental impact of its on and offshore leasing policies, paving the way for damaging drilling to be stopped.

The decision not to appeal the court ruling is a victory for SEEC members.

We need to keep putting pressure on the Biden administration and demand the President honor his campaign promises and show results.

John, SEEC members of Congress will continue to hold the Biden administration accountable for its promises while also working with it to achieve the President’s big climate goals for our country.

SEEC members of Congress will keep pressuring President Biden and his administration to ban oil and gas drilling on public lands.

The decision to halt the oil lease in the Gulf of Mexico is a significant first step. But it is only the beginning.

Thank you for pitching in.

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
