It’s Women’s History Month, and we are celebrating the record number of women currently in Congress!

When the legislative session started last year, we witnessed a record number of women sworn in, many of them our very own Future Forum members.

The Washington Post posed this question back in 2021: does electing women legislators have consequences for voters?

According to their research…yes!

Women are more active than their male colleagues – sponsoring more legislation, moving bills more quickly through the legislative process and are more effective at bringing more funding to their respective districts.

In the last decade we witnessed a 50% increase in the representation of women in Congress according to the Pew Research Center – and we must defend our progress this November. We need to keep our most vulnerable members like Katie Porter (CA-45) and Lauren Underwood (IL-14) in office!
