John, I have had an action-packed few years in politics, to say the least.

In 2018: I ran for Congress as a first-time candidate and flipped a seat held by an NRA-backed Republican. Telling my son Jordan's story and letting voters know what I would do to fight for gun safety propelled me to a narrow victory.

In 2020: In a campaign where we faced a slew of negative attacks, I expanded my winning margin from 1% to 9% over that same well-funded Republican opponent.

In 2021: Instead of trying to beat me at the ballot box, Gov. Brian Kemp, Georgia Republicans, and the NRA decided to draw me right out of Congress by gerrymandering my old district and making it unwinnable for any Democrat.

Now: After losing my son to gun violence, flipping a seat, and fighting to pass gun safety legislation in Washington, I am not done with my time in Congress. We have more work to do and this mother isn’t going anywhere . So this week, my team and I went down to the state capitol to officially qualify for the ballot in 2022 in Georgia’s 7th District.
