John,

The first time I ever used a chainsaw was back in 1985, when I joined my dad and our community to clear our roads of fallen trees in the aftermath of Hurricane Gloria. It was a long time ago, but I still think of the destruction we had to dig out from, and the cost of that and other storms, like superstorm Sandy, when I consider the growing threat of climate change.

For some people, climate change may not feel like an immediate concern. But for us — living along a coastal area, with so many homes, lives and jobs tied to our beach communities and natural environment — climate change is a very real threat.

It's one of the many reasons why we need to flip this seat blue, so that we can have a fighter for climate action representing New York's 1st.

John, I recognize the urgent need to combat climate change, and I'm running so that we can pull together and take real action while there’s still time. Can you chip in to support this run?

Right now, our representative in Washington isn't doing anything to protect our communities and our way of life from climate change.

In fact, Zeldin has consistently stood in the way of initiatives to cut emissions, strengthen energy independence, and transition to clean power. His inaction has left us vulnerable to the fuel price spikes we're seeing right now, which disproportionately hurt working families.

Long Islanders deserve better.

I've spent decades fighting for our environment — to protect our beaches, reduce plastic pollution, ensure we have clean, safe water to drink, and help build green infrastructure.

With the threat of climate change looming all around us, it's more important than ever to elect someone who is going to step up on these issues in Washington.

For the sake of Long Island, and our communities, we need to flip this seat, John. Can you pitch in $5 or anything you can to help us build a winning campaign?

Thank you once again — and stay warm!
