Throughout my career, I’ve seen too many patients who needed life-saving medications that they simply couldn’t afford. In the U.S., patients often have to pay up to 10 times more than patients in other countries for the same prescriptions.
We should call that what it is: unacceptable. In the richest country on earth, no one should have to struggle to pay for necessary prescriptions.
The skyrocketing costs of life-saving medication has been going on far too long. It’s time for the government to be able to negotiate and lower the prices of many prescription drugs.
John, no one in the United States should have to worry that they won’t be able to afford the medicine they need to live.
