I am thrilled about the historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Judge Jackson brings outstanding credentials as a brilliant and independent jurist, and she is exceedingly qualified to serve on our highest court.

However, I just heard some really concerning news: my opponent, Sen. Grassley (R-IA), is already trying to delay Judge Jackson's nomination, in an attempt to further endanger our civil liberties. It's time to show Sen. I'm upset by Sen. Grassley's actions, but I'm hardly surprised. For years, he has been using his seat on the Senate Judiciary Committee to stack the court with right-wing nominees, advance his dangerous far-right agenda and attack our right to choose. 

Throughout my entire career, I have always fought for our right to choose. Whether in the Iowa State House or the House of Representatives, I stood against every attack on our reproductive rights. I promise you that I will fiercely defend our right to choose in the Senate.

During his time as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he conspired with Mitch McConnell to steal a Supreme Court seat from President Obama – refusing to consider his nominee for 293 days. Then, once Trump was in office, Sen. Grassley rammed through the controversial nominations of far-right extremists like Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.

Now, as the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he's trying to delay Judge Jackson's confirmation.

This is what we've come to expect from Sen. Grassley – but it's time for us to say enough is enough. America deserves senators who respect the courts and Iowans deserve a senator who will fight for them, not a far-right agenda. That's why I'm running to defeat Sen. Grassley, and it's why I need you with me.

This is the first time in history that we can actually make Sen. Grassley pay for what he’s become. There is such a stark contrast between the two of us and the numbers are clearly showing that he’s more vulnerable than ever. We’re going to win this fight, but I need you with me.

Iowans are turning against Sen. Grassley's agenda like never before, but the GOP already has over $41.6 MILLION in the bank to defeat challengers like me. We can win in Iowa, but only with a united grassroots movement.
