We’re organizing teams of Spanish-speaking activists to take action in one of two ways:

It’s no secret that communities of color are disproportionately impacted by our broken health care system. Of the 30 million uninsured people in this country, half are Black, Indigenous, or people of color. And this was before the Covid pandemic — those numbers have only gotten worse since March 2020. What’s more, hospitalizations during the pandemic have been 3 to 4 times higher for people of color, who have also died of Covid at twice the rate as compared to white people.

If we want to win health care as a human right, one thing is clear: we must consistently center the communities most directly and harshly impacted by our broken system.

Already, our Medicare para Todos program has created opportunities for Spanish speakers to get involved in the fight for health care justice, including a robust Spanish-language texting program and informative Spanish-language webinars.

Now, we’re expanding our Spanish language outreach, growing teams of Spanish-speaking activists to take action in one of two ways:

  1. Send texts to more Spanish-speaking voters to identify supporters of single-payer health care and to plug those supporters into our campaign.

  2. Make phone calls to Spanish-language supporters of Medicare for All to further engage them in our campaign and invite them to attend our upcoming April 23rd Medicare for All Fest — our first national campaign event to have live, Spanish-language interpretation. These phone banks will be easy and fun because we’ll only be calling people who already said they support Medicare for All!

If you’re a fluent Spanish speaker, we would love to have you join us — you can sign up to join our Texting Team, Call Team, or both! We’ll give you all the training and support you need.

And if you know folks who support the movement for Medicare for All and speak Spanish, please invite them to join as well.

Thank you for taking action,
