President Biden has been hard at work building an international coalition to support President Zelenskyy’s heroic effort to defend Ukraine’s borders. So then why is Madison Cawthorn breaking rank to repeat Putin’s talking points?
“Remember that Zelenskyy is a thug. Remember that the Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt, and it is incredibly evil, and it has been pushing woke ideologies.”
He also went on to describe Putin’s handling of the invasion as “savvy” and “genius,” which isn’t just unpatriotic, it’s demonstrably false.
But while Cawthorn, as usual, is the most brazen member of The 147 contradicting our foreign policy, he’s not the only one. 14 members of the 147 voted against the Russian oil ban, directly undermining the international communities' ability to hold Russia accountable economically.
Now is not the time to score cheap political points, it’s the time to show Putin that we stand behind our commander in chief, united as one.
