November 2019 CPL Report
There was a big jump in statewide CPL holders in October reaching a new all-time record. While MCRGO class numbers for October were unusually high, we didn't anticipate this much of a surge in active CPLs. As of November 1, 2019, there are 666,725 current CPL holders in Michigan. Legal FAQ
Q: If my spouse and I both have a CPL, can we carry each other's pistol even though it's registered to the other spouse?
A: The short answer to your question is yes, with the disclaimer that if you have to use the weapon in defense, the actual owner may run into other issues. The CPL itself does not specify which pistol you are going to carry, nor does it specify the number that you can carry. As long as the person who is carrying a pistol registered to you is also a CPL holder, then they can carry it except in places where concealed carry is prohibited.
