I have exciting news to share! The Washington State Legislature passed my legislation banning the sale of high-capacity magazines.
In Dayton, Ohio, an individual armed with a 100-round double-drum high-capacity magazine killed and injured 36 people in just 32 seconds. Without this legislation, that double-drum magazine would remain legal in Washington state.
This has been a long, tough fight. I first introduced this legislation six years ago, standing with elected officials, representatives from faith communities, and the families of victims.
This historic victory will save lives and help protect our communities from gun violence and mass shootings.
