Chairman's Message
READ THE BILL
Parental Rights in Education bill is necessary.
And Democrats hate it.
The media-driven disinformation campaign surrounding the Parental Rights in Education bill that has passed the House and Senate has created such a level of ignorance around the bill that most people likely think it literally bans teachers from saying the word “gay.”
Of course, that is not remotely true. The bill never even says the word “gay.” Not once. So yes, it is an open disinformation campaign which is how you get high school kids around the state, often ginned up by adults and teachers, protesting against banning the word “gay.” It’s been one of the more shameful journalism shams in memory. At least with the Russian collusion hoax, there was a country named Russia.
Fortunately, Republicans in the Legislature stayed strong in the face of the avalanche of misinformation and passed the legislation to protect young children, sending it on to Governor DeSantis.
But the reason the bill was needed is another major, untold story. The bill was actually in response to last year’s parental rights bill requiring parents to be notified of significant developments involving their children. But some school districts were skirting the law by excluding parents from gender identification issues in the classroom. So this legislation was required to further protect parents’ and children’s rights from school districts determined to hide important information about their children from them.
Here’s the entirety of the part of the short bill that the has whipped up leftists and LGBTQ activists:
"Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."
That’s all, folks. That’s what all the whipped up hysteria is about. End of story.

Speaking of protecting children…
Florida follows the data and protects children’s health
Governor DeSantis and Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo joined a large panel of world-renowned physicians and epidemiologists to discuss the failures of lockdowns and mandates in response to COVID and the ongoing tragedy of politicians and the medical establishment ignoring data and instead choosing to stoke fear and push mandates in hopeless attempts to “stop the spread.”
“Over the past two years, the data has shown us what works and what doesn’t work. It is long past time to stop the COVID Theater,” Governor DeSantis said. “In Florida, we told the truth, we let the data drive our response, and we let Floridians make decisions for themselves and their children. As a result, Florida is in a better spot than states who used fear mongering and mandates.”
The Governor has continually sought the expertise and guidance of some of the world’s top epidemiologists and doctors to get the fullest picture on all COVID issues. Florida opposed shutdowns, mandatory masking and mandatory vaccines — all of which were never supported by science and have been shown to be ineffective, worthless or actually damaging.
During a recent panel of these world experts convened by Governor DeSantis, there was considerable agreement that Florida has been on the right track all along.
- “The lockdowns were an enormous catastrophic mistake that should never be repeated,” said Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Health Policy at Stanford University Medical School. “When we think about lockdowns, we should recoil with horror because the policies we followed have violated not just medical ethics, but also crushed the ability for scientists to discuss openly with each other facts and evidence.”
- “There is no justification for mandating vaccines for children, full stop,” said Dr. Robert Malone, M.D. “We’re of the strong opinion that if there is risk, there must be choice… Another thing that the state of Florida has led on that we are very grateful for is enabling physicians [and providing] the latitude to provide early treatment to patients. We have really tried to advocate for the ability of physicians to just practice medicine.”
- “We know that masks interfere with communication, and children do not like wearing them. The children with hearing impairments and other impairments have difficulty wearing masks,” said Dr. Tracy Beth Høeg, M.D., Ph.D., Board Certified Interventional Sports and Spine Medicine Specialist with Northern California Orthopedic Associates. “And, we’re forcing them to do this just because we have this idea that they’re going to be doing something good. We have actually no high-quality evidence showing that they are.”
- “At most 5%, based on a lot of the published data of COVID, was actually spread in schools,” said Dr. Christopher D’Adamo, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at University of Maryland School of Medicine. “So what we do know is the collateral damage was real with this, for both physical health and mental health.
- “If you have had immunity, you don’t need vaccines, and that by itself sort of reduces any argument for having a vaccine mandate or vaccine passports,” said Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D., Scientific Director, Brownstone Institute; Fellow, Hillsdale College’s Academy for Science & Freedom.

State launches “all-hands-on-deck” to help families impacted by wildfires
Governor DeSantis announced additional state resources to help families impacted by the wildfires in Northwest Florida.
“We are taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to support Northwest Florida,” Governor DeSantis said. “These resources for residents and businesses will help the resilient people of Northwest Florida get back on their feet as fast as possible. We will continue to provide all available state resources for as long as necessary to ensure the community’s full recovery.”
Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and Community Action Agencies serving Bay, Calhoun and Gulf counties have provided $6.1 million for families impacted by the wildfires. This funding will help families with costs associated with temporary relocation including housing, food and transportation.
DEO is also activating the Business Damage Assessment Survey to assess the impact of the recent wildfires on businesses in Northwest Florida. By launching this survey, DEO will be able to determine the availability of additional resources, including low-interest loans and grants. Businesses can complete the survey online at FloridaDisaster.biz <[link removed]>.

Immigration bill needed to push back on feds secretly depositing illegal immigrants
States have to step up where the federal government refuses to do its job, and Florida is doing so on immigration where it has authority.
The new immigration bill that has agitated pro-illegal immigration groups is a necessary step toward stopping the feds from sending thousands of illegal immigrants into Florida communities under cover of night, without even informing local officials. This is wrong and adds to the disaster that the Biden administration has created at the southern border.
The bill forbids local and state government entities from doing business with companies that transport illegal immigrants into Florida, unless the transportation is to detain or remove them from Florida or the United States. The bill is on its way to Governor DeSantis desk for his signature.
The two main areas of the legislation include:
- Helping identify illegal aliens by blocking state and local government agencies trying to prohibit law enforcement from providing information on the immigration status of someone in custody. This would help law enforcement identify illegal immigrants.
- Prohibiting state and local governments from contracting with common carriers or contracted carriers that willfully transport an “unauthorized alien” into the state, except for the detention or removal of the person from the state or the United States. The bill also specifies that contracts, including a grant agreement or economic incentive program payment agreement, must include certain provisions attesting that the common carrier or contracted carrier will not provide these prohibited services.

Another shipping company shifts operations to Florida
Governor DeSantis announced Sea-Lead Shipping will be moving part of its operations from California to JAXPORT to bypass heavy congestion at the Port of Long Beach, California. This will be the first U.S. East Coast container service for the company and JAXPORT will serve as the last port of call on Sea-Lead’s Asia East Coast rotation, connecting Jacksonville to four locations in Asia.
“In October, in the midst of severe supply chain disruptions, we made a public effort to get companies to bring more cargo to Florida ports, and we have seen great results,” Governor DeSantis said. “Florida’s continued investment in our seaports and transportation infrastructure make this exciting announcement possible. We will continue to make infrastructure investments that keep our supply chain moving and make sure that Florida has a strong workforce ready to support these businesses moving to our state.”
“This new service, and the jobs and economic impact it brings to Jacksonville, is a direct result of the dedication and foresight of our elected officials who have invested in a deeper channel and infrastructure upgrades to enable JAXPORT to serve a wider variety of vessels,” said JAXPORT CEO Eric Green.

Rubio slams Democratic Demings for voting with Pelosi '100% of the time'
From Fox News:
Sen. Marco Rubio slammed his Democratic opponent for the 2022 midterm election, Rep. Val Demings, saying if Floridians want someone who votes "100% of the time" with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be their next senator, they should vote for her, and if they don’t, they should re-elect him.
Rubio, R-Fla., during a recent interview with Fox News at CPAC, slammed Demings, D-Fla., as a lawmaker who has "done nothing."
"She has been in Congress for six years. She’s done nothing. She’s named a post office," Rubio said, noting he has been named the "most effective Republican senator" by a number of educational institutions, while detailing his record.
"I was the author, I passed and helped implement and wrote the Paycheck Protection Program to VA accountability bills, the child tax credit expansion – which I was directly responsible for," Rubio said. "I’ve got a record of doing things that are real and make a difference."
"She’s an ineffective member of Congress and a puppet of Nancy Pelosi," Rubio said. "She’s voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time. That’s why Chuck Schumer wants her in the Senate, because he knows, no matter what she believes or has said in the past, when he asks for her vote on something, she’s going to give it."

Celebrating three years of Back the Blue Awards
Recognizing the need to support Florida law enforcement officers in Florida and help forge strong relationships between officers and communities, Attorney General Ashley Moody created the Back the Blue campaign in 2019. The award brilliantly presaged the dire need that would erupt in 2020 after protestors burned American cities and attacked police while Democrats promoted defunding police.
That would not happen in Florida. And three years later, the Back the Blue campaign is celebrating 44 Back the Blue Awards presented to heroic Floridians and organizations that support law enforcement.
“In Florida, we back our blue. That is why, three years ago, I started a campaign designed to honor those who go above and beyond to help make sure Florida remains the most pro-law enforcement state in the nation,” Attorney General Moody said this week during a three-year anniversary celebration. “As we recognize three years of our Back the Blue initiative, take a moment to nominate an officer, citizen or organization working to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.”
Beginning with Zechariah Cartledge, who ran to honor law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty, three years of the Back the Blue campaign have seen the award go to a wide variety of Floridians.

CFO Patronis at forefront of Panhandle fires
Florida State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis has been at the forefront of the state’s response to the wildfires that have devastated areas of the Panhandle region near Panama City.
Three fires continue to burn, destroying thousands of acres of woodlands and dozens of homes while forcing hundreds to flee their homes.
The first fire started Friday east of Panama City and is called Adkins Avenue Fire. A huge blaze referred to as the Bertha Swamp Road Fire was in Bay County on Saturday afternoon and swelled to cover over 33,000 acres by Wednesday. A third fire popped up south of Tram Road and west of Star Avenue.
Under the leadership of Governor DeSantis, CFO Patronis and other state leaders, the state continues to support local emergency responders in controlling the blazes.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Proves Conservatives Can Beat LGBT-Obsessed Left
From the Daily Signal:
The Florida state Senate on Tuesday passed a parents rights bill, a media-maligned piece of legislation that will prohibit primary school teachers from talking about sexual orientation with children in pre-K through third grade.
Senate passage of the Parental Rights in Education bill by a vote of 21-17 marks a milestone in parents’ efforts across the nation to fight back against the radical left in the classroom. The legislation also represents a model for other states to use as they push back the woke tides.
The Florida House of Representatives passed the legislation last month, 69-47. It now goes to Gov. Ron DeSantis for his signature.
Opposition to the Parental Rights in Education bill has been fierce, with many on the left attempting to reframe the law as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. The left has attempted for years to indoctrinate children with LGBT ideology in public schools, and now activists are furious at attempts by conservatives to push back…
Americans are just waking up to how tight a grip the radical left has on the education system, and what dire consequences can result from that amount of control.
