During a time when our country stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, Madison Cawthorn has decided to use his platform to parrot Putin’s lies, calling the Ukrainian President a “thug” and his country “incredibly evil.”

This is just another example of Cawthorn doing something that begs the question: Whose side is Madison Cawthorn on?

Instead of joining Americans of all backgrounds and across the political spectrum in supporting the people of Ukraine, he’s more focused on promoting a dangerous brand of political extremism in order to build his profile as a celebrity on the fringes of the far-right.

WNC deserves a representative who will reflect the values of this community – a representative who puts their constituents first, and who will stand up to violent extremism and authoritarianism.

Unlike Madison Cawthorn, it’s crystal clear which side Jasmine is on. She’s on the side of WNC and the democratic, compassionate values that unite us.
