I was proud to support the American Rescue Plan to provide crucial support to struggling families across the country.

As we recognize today the one year anniversary of this impactful legislation being signed into law, I would like to highlight how this action provided critical relief to public education, first responders, health professionals, and small businesses.

Because of this action, we’ve made tremendous progress to get past the COVID-19 pandemic and create more economic opportunities for everyone. This is what we can accomplish when we work together to find pragmatic solutions and create meaningful, material change in our communities.

THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN’S IMPACT IN INDIANA:

$5.8 billion to Indiana communities and county governments

$2 billion for K-12 schools to raise teacher pay and keep kids learning

$250 million to expanding broadband services

$12 million to strengthening our public transportation systems

80,000 Indiana children lifted out of poverty by the extended Child Tax Credit

We’ve come a long way since President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law, and there’s still work to be done.
