Friend — I know there are so many challenges facing our country and the world, so I want to share three important things I’ve been fighting for in the Senate that haven’t made headlines, but are vital to making progress.

First: Rep. Cori Bush and I are leading 100 of our Congressional colleagues in calling on President Biden to reverse Donald Trump’s inhumane immigration policies. This includes Title 42, which cruelly targets Black immigrants and allows for the mass deportation of Haitian children. It’s time we undo these draconian immigration policies that do not represent our country’s ideals.

Second: I’m proud to be working with Rep. Jamaal Bowman to introduce the African American History Act which allocates funding and resources to ensure that the full richness of African American history is told across the country — not just for Black History Month, but as a necessary part of education curriculums.

Third: I’m introducing legislation to protect the North Atlantic right whale since its population is dwindling and in danger of becoming extinct. It’s critical that we update existing protections and create new regulations to ensure this iconic species can flourish.

It will always be the honor of my life to fight for change in the Senate but I know none of this would be possible without you.
