Dear John,

The cold couldn’t keep the energy down at a recent rally I attended with workers of UAW Local 578 outside Oshkosh Corporation headquarters. The company won a contract to manufacture the next generation of USPS vehicles, but in a betrayal to its workers, Oshkosh Corporation stated it will run the project in South Carolina, taking over 1,000 jobs away from union workers in Wisconsin.

While Ron Johnson doesn’t think we need these jobs, I believe we should protect workers and ensure good jobs in Wisconsin. I know the dignity afforded by a unionized job – it goes beyond the worker. Growing up in a union household, we had strong healthcare benefits that the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) fought for on behalf of members like my mom. I was only able to found my nonprofit, the Millennial Action Project, because I could stay on the great health insurance they earned.

This is what our campaign is all about. We are building an unprecedented movement in Wisconsin to take on the current system of politics that undermines workers’ rights and representation. It’s wrong to have a Congress of millionaires, controlled by billionaires. We’re fighting to change this system. We in the working class need to be able to run for office to represent ourselves and working class interests. I’m asking you to join our movement now by getting involved [[link removed]]
or making a contribution to support our efforts [[link removed]] .

Together we can build a more dignified economy for Wisconsin centered on the best interests of Wisconsin workers and our families - people like you and me. Please support our efforts by contributing to our campaign [[link removed]] and help us build an economy that ensures Dignity for All.

In Solidarity,
Steven
