Last week, President Joe Biden made history by nominating the first Black woman to the United States Supreme Court. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is highly-qualified to succeed Justice Stephen Breyer and will carry on his legacy of fighting for equal rights and justice for all.

President Biden's nomination is a critical symbol of progress and hope for all Americans, and particularly for millions of young Black women who will see themselves represented in the highest court of the land. Our institutions should look like the people they serve, and I commend President Biden for this historic nomination.
