The Chesapeake Bay is central to our way of life here in Maryland. It is not only an important part of our environment; it’s essential to outdoor recreation, tourism, our economy, and many Marylanders’ livelihoods -- and it has of course, the best crabs in the nation!
That’s why preserving the Chesapeake and Maryland’s other precious natural resources is a top priority for me in Congress, and with the bipartisan infrastructure bill, I helped secure millions of dollars worth of investments to preserve and revitalize our state’s environment and wildlife, bolster outdoor recreation, and reduce pollution.
We’re already seeing a big impact from the infrastructure bill. It’s improving our environment and making our infrastructure more resilient to climate change all while creating millions of good jobs for American workers.
It’s through commonsense, bipartisan solutions like the infrastructure bill that we can make sure the Chesapeake and our environment can be enjoyed by future generations like my grandson Charlie for years to come.
