At the monthly meeting of the 109th Precinct Community Council on Wednesday night, I was proud to sponsor the Precinct's Cop of the Month Awards, where standout officers are recognized for efforts in which they go above and beyond to keep our community safe. Thank you to these officers!

I was also honored to recognize Whitestone's own Ret. Sgt. Alfred J. Driano, who landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day and is a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Thank you for your remarkable bravery and service!

Touring the Largest Wholesale Produce Market in the World

Had the opportunity Wednesday morning to tour the Hunts Point Meat and Produce Markets, where I was able to see the heart and soul of the East Coast's food industry in action. Looking forward to chairing a NYC Council Economic Development Committee Hearing on this massive distribution center later this month.
