Dear Supporter,
On Sunday, I wrote to announce that I was launching a new campaign alongside our Honorary President, Nigel Farage. The campaign is called ‘Vote Power Not Poverty’.
A key part of our campaign is to hold rallies around the UK, to start a much-needed debate on the current plans for Net Zero, plans which we feel push too hard, too fast and which will cause untold harm to people across the UK.
Given the scale of these plans, we feel that at the very least there should be a national debate to look at other, better solutions; solutions that can deliver cleaner, greener energy but without impoverishing millions of people and forcing businesses and industry abroad. Solutions such as shale gas, our own energy treasure, huge quantities of which can be found right under our feet.
Under the current proposals, the young will be burdened with higher costs, fewer jobs and less money, whilst there is a real risk that the old will die colder and poorer, particularly in the north.

With this in mind, we had planned our first rally at the University of Bolton Stadium on 26th March. This is a venue we know well and have used before. Yet, after weeks of discussions and with the rally already advertised, we received an email on Monday, just 24 hours after launching the event, informing us that the Board of Directors for the stadium would no longer accommodate us.
Why? Because the vested interests at Bolton Wanderers apparently don’t condone the concept of free speech, or an open discussion on a matter of huge national interest. They don’t believe the great British public should be allowed to hear ideas from outside of the status quo.
We don’t agree and that is what makes our campaign different.
We believe in the British people and have faith in their ability to hear an argument, to take part in a discussion and to decide for themselves what is in the best interests of our country. You’ve done it before and giving you that same referendum right over energy is what our campaign is all about.
The great news is that we have now confirmed a new venue in Bolton for our rally on 26th March!
Tickets remain on sale and we’re inviting you to join us at the 3D Centre. Bella St, Bolton BL3 4DU. Doors will open at 9:30pm for an 11am start!

I urge you all to come and support our efforts. This isn’t the first time we’ve come up against the cancel culture and it won’t be the last. We must take a stand together, to put a stop to this toxic culture of closing down debate.
Our country can never reach its full potential if we allow key decisions to be made without real debate and proper discussion.
We know how to be heard and no matter what our good friends at Bolton Wanderers may do, our supporters in Bolton and beyond will have their chance to be heard in the very near future!
Many thanks,
Richard Tice
