Nottingham City Council, in collaboration Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID), the organisation behind It’s in Nottingham; is proud to present the first Ay-UpMarket which celebrates Nottingham’s independent traders and businesses.

The three-day event will run in Old Market Square Friday to Sunday and in Sneinton Market Avenues on Saturday.

Ay-UpMarket gives Nottingham-based independent retailers and creatives, both bricks and mortar and online, a unique trading platform which will highlight the city's fantastic independents.

Alongside the market stalls, the event will also include a full programme of live music and street entertainers.

A full programme of performances and more details of traders will be issued in the forthcoming weeks

This event has been made possible with funding available nationally from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The Welcome Back Fund has provided councils across England a share of ÂŁ56 million to support the safe return to high streets and help build back better from the pandemic.

Nottingham's St Patrick’s Day Festival returns to the city centre after a 2-year hiatus, celebrating our region’s vibrant Irish community and descendants.

Head to Old Market Square to enjoy a range of Irish and Irish-inspired live music and culture on stage including the John McNicholl Band.

Head down to the city centre on Thursday lunchtime to check out some traditional Irish Stew and soda bread

County Cork is the lead county for the 21st year of the event in Nottingham.

The Council House will also be going green for the day.

This unique, home-grown exhibition features work by two important female British artists, brought together for the first time in an ambitious presentation.

The exhibition celebrates the remarkable achievements of Nottingham artist *Dame Laura Knight R.A* (1877 -1970) alongside the work of critically acclaimed British artist, *Caroline Walker *(b. 1982), presented in her first UK museum solo show. 

Although born decades apart, both artists examine the remarkable experiences of women, while individually celebrating subjects as varied as ballet performers, motherhood, and modern-day NHS heroes.
