John, there’s no easy way to say this: Democrats are facing crushing odds in the upcoming midterm elections.

That’s because there are a number of factors — what one commentator referred to as a “toxic brew” — working against us:

• We’re seeing an HISTORIC rate of retirements: THIRTY House Democrats (30!!) have decided to call it quits rather than run for reelection — the highest number in three decades! Since it’s harder to win in an open seat, the party with more retirees usually loses House seats.

• We hold the House by a RAZOR-THIN House Majority. We really can’t afford to lose any ground, because Republicans only need to flip SIX seats in November to win back control of the House. But they’re not coming for the bare minimum — GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy thinks they can flip 70 seats, and Donald Trump predicted that the GOP will win their biggest House Majority in history!

• We’re being outraised…by a lot. We’re worried the GOP cash advantage could make their predictions of a red wave in November come true. Between Trump, Kevin McCarthy, and their GOP allies, Republicans have raked in over $300 MILLION in their quest to take back the House. Meanwhile, our fundraising has been inconsistent, and some big Democratic donors have even said that they’re planning on sitting out the midterms!

Look, we can’t sugarcoat it: The challenge we face is immense, and intimidating. But we can’t afford to give up — the stakes of losing the House Majority are just too high.

With control of the House Majority, Republicans could:

• DESTROY the Postal Service.
• RESTRICT voting rights.
• ERASE reproductive freedom.
• And even OVERTURN the 2024 presidential election!

If that happens, we could be looking at a Total Trump Takeover of our democracy.
