Hello,
Last week, I was proud to watch a cool, calm, and collected President Biden address a nation at a time when the international climate is the most tumultuous it has been in decades. The State of the Union is one of the reasons I stand by President Biden. Bravo, Mr. President. This is no time to play partisan politics. All Americans must come together and defeat anti-democracy sentiment at home and abroad. Yet, some prominent citizens and elected officials continue to stand with Putin, so I ask this of Senator Grassley, “Do you continue to stand with President Trump and other Putin allies?”
We have been out on the road quite a bit over the past few weeks, and we did a swing through Southeast Iowa with stops in Mahaska, Jefferson, Van Buren, and Henry Counties. It was great to see so many new and familiar faces. Here is a link to local coverage of our stop in Mount Pleasant.
Over the weekend, we again traveled east but took a turn north to make stops in Cedar Rapids, Anamosa, Dubuque and Waterloo. I was especially honored to receive the endorsement of Black Hawk County Sheriff, Tony Thompson. You can read more about our stop in Dubuque here where I call out Senator Grassley's commitment to partisanship over the country.
If your county party is holding any upcoming events or if you are interested in hosting a fundraiser or meet and greet, please email us at [email protected].
I also had an opportunity to visit with some of our friends in labor where we discussed foreign affairs and the impact international issues will have on our state. As your Senator, I will always stand in solidarity with our partners in labor. Iowa has amazing opportunities for future infrastructure, and when we lift workers' wages, we lift up our entire economy.

Thank you for your support. I know we can do this and make Washington work for Iowans again. See you on the trail.
Sincerely,
Mike Franken, VADM, U.S. Navy (ret.)
