Learn how I earned a scholarship to this leadership conference.

Dear John,

I am incredibly grateful to have attended the 2022 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida on a scholarship from the Network of enlightened Women (NeW). I heard from leaders in the conservative movement and networked with thousands of like-minded individuals from around the world.

I attend college in Washington, DC where it is often atypical to be in a room with more than one or two other conservatives. To be surrounded by such a large number of conservatives in Orlando last month was a refreshing experience to say the least. For me, there were three primary highlights of CPAC that made the experience so rewarding.

First, there was an excellent speaker lineup complete with some of the biggest names and most influential voices in the conservative movement. My friends and I heard from Former President Donald J. Trump, Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), Governor Kristi Noem (SD), Former Governor Scott Walker (WI), Senator Ted Cruz (TX), Representative Kat Cammack (FL), Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Mercedes Schlapp, Ronna McDaniel, Katie Pavlich, and Candace Owens, among other notable speakers. Hearing from such a diverse lineup of speakers from across the conservative spectrum provided an unmatched opportunity to broaden intellectual diversity and for me to learn and grow as a conservative.

Second, just a short walk to the other side of the hotel's conference center, I found myself immersed in CPAC Central, a giant collection of conservative organizations set up in individual booths. I spent time at the NeW booth where I was delighted to see so many women learn about this organization and become supporters of our mission to educate, equip, and empower young conservative women to be principled leaders for a free society. I loved sharing my passion for NeW with other women, many of whom were inspired to become members or even start a NeW chapter on their own campus.

Finally, I attended the Women EmPower Hour hosted by NeW alongside my NeW peers representing 18 NeW chapters and women who were interested in starting a chapter. We enjoyed connecting with one another at the event and heard from Mary Vought, Founder and President of Vought Strategies and Executive Director of the Senate Conservatives Fund.

At the EmPower Hour, Vought shared about how she is leading in her community, in the workplace, and in her home. She encouraged everyone in attendance to speak out on the issues they care about and know their priorities because these will guide them on when to stand up. Vought shared incredible advice such as that one person can make a difference, drawing on her experience as a conservative woman.

Know a young woman who would like to get involved in events like this? Encourage her to become a NeW member today for just $5 a year.

This experience and being a member of NeW has allowed me to grow as an empowered conservative woman.

Best wishes,
Abby Daniels
