[1]Cori Bush

This deserves our attention,
John.

The reports of Black and brown refugees from Ukraine being denied entry
into neighboring countries are enraging, and Cori is working to address
this immediately.

Axios has reported stories of African women being denied entry to a Kyiv
train station and authorities ignoring people of color at the
Ukraine-Poland border. These stories are troubling and represent common
experiences of racism Black and brown migrants face when searching for
safety.

War and violence don't discriminate. Many Black migrants attempting to
leave Ukraine are exchange students who deserve the resources and
protections being given to white Ukrainians.

Cori will always speak out about the unjust treatment Black people face in
the U.S. and abroad, but we need to raise our voices together. [ [link removed] ]Will you
sign our petition to make it clear to President Biden and world leaders
that Black migrants deserve protection?

Let's make this clear: Black migrants must be protected no matter where
they're seeking residence.

That means Black and brown migrants fleeing Ukraine must be welcomed in
neighboring countries. And it means Haitian migrants seeking asylum in the
U.S. must be welcomed here.

That's why Cori is leading House Members in the call for the Biden
administration to review the disparate treatment of Black migrants in the
U.S. and reverse anti-Black policies like Title 42 expulsions.

The unfortunate truth is that Black migrants are deported twice as often
and face inhumane, violent treatment at our own border. We witnessed this
last fall after the Biden administration greenlit mass deportations of
asylum-seeking Haitians despite the ongoing crisis in their country.

It is unacceptable for the U.S. to claim to be a safe haven for all while
keeping this policy in place. [ [link removed] ]That’s why it’s critical we show our
support for Cori as she works to address the disparate and inhumane
treatment of Black migrants. Please, will you add your name to our
petition?
