Another week, another litany of embarrassing, alarming, and downright frightening headlines from radical candidates across the country. Radicals can be tricky to track. They try to hide their true nature, but their craven ideologies and wild conspiracies always bubble to the surface. That’s why the Renew America Movement is watching them closely, to ensure the public knows exactly who they are.
Here are just a few recent highlights:
Joe Kent (WA-3) —who’s running against Renewer Jaime Herrera Beutler—got caught cavorting with an infamous neo-Nazi and white supremacist, Nick Fuentes. Now he’s lying and saying he doesn’t know Fuentes, despite the fact that he’s praised him before.
Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) is also a fan of Nick Fuentes and recently spoke at his conference, where he defended Hitler and Putin. But no matter how often she shows her true racist colors, Kevin McCarthy still vows to give her more power if Republicans retake the House.
Tina Peters (CO) was just indicted on 10 charges of election-related crimes for her role in trying to overturn the 2020 election for Donald Trump. She’s now running to be Secretary of State, so that she has power over the entire state’s elections.
Madison Cawthorn (NC-11) , who recently sponsored a bill to prohibit aid to Ukraine, was just caught on video calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “a thug” and Ukraine’s government “evil.” Sadly unsurprising behavior for a man who made his hatred of democracy clear on Jan. 6, 2021.
These are just four of the more than 200 radical candidates we are tracking across the country. They are running in small towns and big cities alike. They aren’t isolated extremists; they are a part of a much larger movement—one with aspirations to transform and ultimately subvert American democracy entirely.
RAM is the first line of defense against the rise of American radicalism. It is our mission to build a national cross-partisan coalition that stands up for democracy and for the principles which make this nation strong. Help us expose these radicals trying to take power, and then beat them at the ballot box while we still have the chance. The future and freedom of our nation depends on it.
