Last week, I led a letter with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren calling
on the Health and Human Services Secretary to correct Medicare Advantage
overpayments to private insurers. It’s simple, private insurance companies
should not be profiteering off of our Medicare system. And we can do
something about it.
Right now, billions of Medicare dollars are going into the pockets of
private insurance companies, taking away taxpayer dollars that should be
applied for urgently needed medical care for our seniors and people with
disabilities. This is a complete diversion from the purpose and spirit of
the Medicare program.
The government can and must correct these overpayments and redistribute
the funds to Medicare recipients.

you’re with me in this fight to stop health care profiteering, please chip

benefiting from Medicare overpayments will try to keep the status quo
we’re fighting against.

We must do everything we can to stop private insurance companies from
taking advantage of administrative loopholes, especially when it comes to
protecting and preserving Medicare funds.
Our public health coverage programs are some of our most vital public
benefits programs in America — alongside benefits like Social Security.
It’s critical that we ensure we’re not wasting Medicare resources with
giveaways to private insurance companies. And it’s critical we use our
public resources to help Medicare recipients get the care they need.

$3 to my campaign today to help me continue my advocacy to
ensure private insurance companies aren’t profiteering off of Medicare.
Thanks for being a part of this movement.
In solidarity,
Pramila
