We wanted to give you an update on our race here in Vermont, and why it’s so important we work together to elect Peter Welch to the Senate. Take a look:
FIRST, Peter Welch announced his progressive campaign to become Vermont’s next Senator.
THEN, a GOP Trump appointee who is backed by national Republicans launched a campaign for this seat.
NOW, Rick Scott and his well-funded National Republican Senatorial Committee are targeting Vermont as a “sleeper” state to help the GOP retake the Senate majority.
Senate Republicans want to regain power so they can obstruct our progressive agenda and put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block. Electing Peter could very well stop folks like Rick Scott and Mitch McConnell from controlling the Senate.
Look, we need a leader who knows how to get things done representing Vermont. That’s Peter, that’s how he’s served Vermonters throughout his years in public service. But in a state that just reelected a Republican governor by 41 points, we can’t take anything for granted.
That’s why we’re building a grassroots team powered by folks like you. We’re not taking any contributions from corporate PACs, so in order to fight back against Rick Scott, Mitch McConnell, and the tens of millions of dollars they have in the bank, we need this team to come together to get it done.
