John,

It's hard to imagine the GOP stooping to a new low, but that's exactly what happened again this week.

Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar (deservedly) caught heat for attending a white nationalist political conference. It's something I never thought I'd see a colleague do when I was first elected, but here we are.

What's worse is the total lack of action from GOP leader Kevin McCarthy. He has a white supremacy problem in his caucus, but isn't doing a thing about it. When asked about it yesterday, he confirmed that Marjorie Taylor Greene could still be given her committee assignments back if Republicans take the House.

This is what it has come to in today's GOP. Republicans are terrified of alienating their base, so their "untouchable loudmouths" face zero accountability. Here in CA-49, at least one of my far-right opponents is auditioning to join the ranks of Greene and Gosar. He’s spreading disinformation and lies about me on the campaign trail, and we don’t expect any fact checks from the GOP.

It's clear that national Republicans will only bolster their most radical members, and if they seize Congress, it’s people like Greene who will control the direction of the country.

My race is listed as one of the GOP's "top-targets" in 2022, and their largest super PAC is gearing up to spend enormous sums attacking me on the airwaves. If you can, send in a donation of $3 before midnight to help prevent a far-right takeover in our community.

Thanks for all that you do.
