Dear Friend,
As the war in Ukraine continues, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams are reporting dire conditions on the ground. In southern Ukraine, the health system has already been disrupted by the war. Supplies are running low at many hospitals. This will affect the ability of hospitals to respond to the direct consequences of war, as well as to treat patients with chronic diseases. Cities such as Odessa are preparing for further attacks and siege.
MSF relies on the support of this community to go wherever needs are greatest—whether it's Ukraine or the more than 70 countries where we work. We’re now responding to urgent requests for specific medical supplies. Here are some examples of what your first gift could provide:
Friend, here is a direct account from a member of our staff in Mariupol demonstrating the urgency of this crisis:
“This night the shelling was harder and closer. We collected snow and rain water yesterday to have some utility water. . . .Still no power, water, heating and mobile connection. . . .Pharmacies are out of medicine."
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
