John, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on our congressional maps was a massive victory for us. Yet we are still in a battle this year to defend our democracy because it’s in peril.
I recently shared my story of immigration with you when I came to the United States almost six years ago. As I knock on doors and talk to new voters about the power of their vote, I think about the power of mine once I get my citizenship soon.
For me, I look forward to voting because I’ll be able to vote for candidates who celebrate this country’s diversity – something the United States is famous for all over the world. Contrary to the American values of diversity and inclusion that have encouraged me to pursue citizenship, the GOP continues to escalate its false rhetoric and build an infrastructure that tramples voting rights, especially for BIPOC, young people, and workers.
This year is about the long game, and we’ve been working hard since last May. The reward will make the difference in this important year. But we can’t rest until we win. Our voting rights are in grave peril. Consider supporting our work by making a $15 contribution to our Battleground Fund. All proceeds go to expanding the electorate – a cause our state needs and deserves.
Let’s go register some voters!
