A new report from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) clarifies that an increasingly warmer world is affecting all living things on Earth.

The report makes it clear things are worse than we thought. Climate-related impacts are hitting the world faster than anticipated. Right now, around 40% of the world’s population is “highly vulnerable” to climate change.

The report’s authors say the window of opportunity to prevent the worst impacts of climate change is rapidly closing, with only the rest of this decade providing the chance to break the cycle.
