I’m Greg Casar, and thanks to the tremendous support of hundreds of volunteers, including Our Revolution members, I’m going to be the next U.S. Congressman from Texas’ 35th District. After hitting the phones and the streets to get progressives to the polls, we won outright with 61 percent of the vote! These results are thanks to you, and the movement for working people that you helped build.

As a member of Our Revolution and a longtime organizer, I can tell you that our inside-outside strategy is working. We’re building power by growing our ranks and electing fighters into office who will deliver for working families.
As a city council member working with the people of Austin, we got a living wage for Austin employees, passed paid sick days, and made real gains for housing justice. Having leaders fighting alongside us in office and groups like Our Revolution organizing on the outside helped fuel our victories locally.
Now, with our big win for Congress, I’ll be a partner to grassroots organizers and activists as we leverage the power of our movement at the federal level. Democracy requires a relationship between we the people and those we elect to fight alongside us.
On March 1 in Texas, Medicare for All was on the ballot, a living wage was on the ballot, good union jobs were on the ballot — and won. Together, we cut through the corporate propaganda and got our message straight to voters, from Austin to San Antonio. When folks heard it, they voted for it overwhelmingly.
We’re making change happen, and there’s much more we can do. We have major opportunities to elect serious progressive allies up and down the ballot during these primaries – to deliver on Medicare for All, protections for reproductive rights, and good jobs with better pay – and we’re not stopping here.
