John,

Two days ago Governor Mills officially announced that she’s running for re-election.

Over the past 3+ years, Gov. Mills has fought hard to get Maine on the right track. She expanded healthcare access, pushed for massive investments that have been creating good-paying jobs, led the way in Maine’s fight against the climate crisis, and more. During her time in office, she’s worked with Democrats in the legislature to fight tooth and nail to help create success for Mainers and protect our rights.

We’re ramping up our efforts to organize across the state and win in 2022. Will you go on the record with a $10 donation now to help build on our progress? [link removed]

But Paul LePage’s record couldn’t be more different. During his time in office, Paul LePage consistently worked against Mainers, not for them. Our state’s economy recovered slower from the Great Recession than the rest of the country and was consistently ranked lowest in New England. Not to mention, LePage spent most of his time fighting with the Legislature, including members of his own party, instead of helping improve the lives of Mainers.

LePage refused to expand Medicaid, making the lives of poor Mainers even more difficult, and repeatedly threatened Mainers’ reproductive rights while in office. When it comes to combating COVID-19, LePage said as recently as December 2021 that “everyone should get it,” leaving families with unvaccinated children and older Mainers to fend for themselves against this virus.

What’s more, after spending the last few years in Florida, LePage claims that he has changed. We all know the truth. He hasn’t changed at all. He’ll use every opportunity to attack abortion rights, undermine democracy, and defund our public assistance programs to make life for our most vulnerable Mainers even more difficult.

That’s why we can’t afford to drop the ball on this one, John. When it comes to winning this election, everything counts. Can you rush in a contribution of $5, $10, $20.22, $50, $100 or whatever you can? [link removed]

Thank you,

Gaetan
