Now more than ever we must support American energy development to help lower energy costs for Montana families and support our partners and allies.
Take a look at what’s happening in Europe and Russia as it relates to energy prices and national security – all of which are interconnected. Europe divested in traditional energy and became more dependent on adversaries like Russia for energy, and now costs are skyrocketing.
This is a sneak peek at the path America is headed down if President Biden's administration continues to stonewall traditional American energy development.
That’s why we must support an all-of-the-above energy portfolio including renewables, hydro, oil, gas, nuclear and coal.
Additionally, President Biden's administration needs to restart oil and gas leasing and kickstart renewable energy development on federal lands and waters.
In early March, I attempted to pass my “SMART Energy Act” to increase traditional and renewable American energy production. Sadly, my colleagues across the aisle blocked my bill from passing.
The U.S. should be removing roadblocks to supply ourselves and our allies with reliable and affordable American energy, not putting up new ones.
