Tonight’s One News Poll shows National is moving in the right direction on 39%, but we aren’t taking anything for granted. The 2023 election is just under 18 months away and we’ve got a lot of work to do.

We believe Kiwis deserve a government that is focused on the real issues that matter to you, your families, and our communities, like tackling the crushing cost-of-living crisis in New Zealand.

With food prices up more than 13 per cent, average rent up $140 a week, and it costing $45 more at the petrol pump to fill up a standard tank, it’s no wonder Kiwis are going backwards.

You’re working harder, and longer, and you’re not seeing the benefits of that hard work in your own back pocket. That’s not right and we need to do something about it.

Unbelievably this week, Jacinda Ardern denied there was a cost-of-living crisis – much to the anger of everyday Kiwis doing it tough under her Government, and rightly so. Labour’s only approach to managing the economy is spend, spend, spend – and then taxing you more to pay for it.

That’s why in Christopher Luxon's State of the Nation speech last week, he announced that National would adjust income tax thresholds to account for the rampant inflation New Zealand has experienced under Labour and give you back more of your own money.

National, under Christopher's leadership, backs Kiwis to succeed. We believe you should keep more of what you earn, and that every cent you provide in tax should be invested wisely on the things that really matter to you. 

We're incredibly grateful for the support shown to National. There is real momentum for change in New Zealand, and we’re working hard to deliver real solutions to the issues that matter to Kiwis.
