2022 Alaska Housing and Homelessness
Virtual Advocacy Day - March 29, 2022

The 2022 Alaska Housing and Homelessness Virtual Advocacy Day will be a one-day virtual event convening agencies and advocates from communities across the state to share the positive impacts of existing housing and service programs as well as share with elected officials the specific needs in their region.

In addition to advocacy efforts, attendees will hear from coalition staff on the status of housing and homelessness across Alaska, receive updates from national housing policy experts, and gain access to a number of work sessions focused on specific housing issues unique to Alaska.

Make sure to check the Advocacy Day website for updates to the agenda, materials, and opportunities to participate.

Registration for virtual advocacy day is free! We do ask that everyone planning to attend complete the online Advocacy Day Registration form in order to receive the event link, advocacy materials, and other relevant information.

United Way Walk 4 Warmth

March 1 - 14, 2022

Walk 4 Warmth is a fundraiser to help our most vulnerable neighbors stay warm and housed by providing direct support to families and individuals struggling to cover basics such as paying rent and utilities. Since the beginning of the pandemic, over 9,000 of our neighbors in need have been helped with rent, mortgage, and utility payments. Two years later, federal pandemic relief is running out, but the pandemic continues to take its toll. Recovery is far away for many and hardships are mounting for many hard-working but low-income families in our city. When we unite to thrive, we can ensure all our neighbors continue to stay warm and housed this winter.

Covenant House Anchorage Sleep Out

Community Edition April 15, 2022

You're Invited to join us at Kincaid Park on April 15 - 16, 2022! This family friendly event will include entertainment and a moving program that will shed light on youth homelessness in our community.

Have you been looking for an opportunity to get your kids involved? This is the perfect event for you! Bring your tents, camp chairs and plan to spend the night in beautiful Kincaid Park. Registration is easy!

National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC)

NLIHC’s Virtual Housing Policy Forum 2022: Achieving Housing Justice will take place March 22-23, 2022, 12:30-5:30 pm ET on March 22 and 1-5:30 pm ET on March 23. The forum will feature a conversation between Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and NLIHC Board of Directors 1st Vice Chair Dora Leong Gallo on the path forward to achieving universal, stable, affordable housing for those most in need in America.
