Friends,

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: asking for money is not my favorite part of this job.

But I keep asking -- because it means I get to continue fighting for legislation that addresses some of our nation's toughest challenges, like climate change and the rising cost of prescription drugs.

Campaigns are costly, and a national conservative organization just launched an aggressive, misleading ad campaign against me. So, I'm asking again -- will you chip in to my re-election fund so we have the resources to defend this seat in 2020?

Our nation is at a critical point. Science and facts are being shut out of our policymaking process by tinfoil hat-wearing climate change deniers who occupy some of the highest offices in our government.

And our Democratic majority in the House is leading the fight to ensure that the Constitution -- not the whims of whoever sits in the White House -- is the ultimate law by which our nation is governed.

Representing a swing district at this turbulent time means that my record and my integrity are constantly under attack by conservative organizations and Trump loyalists whose only priority is delivering more wins to Republican politicians -- no matter the cost to our democracy.

It's critical that we raise the resources to counter the false narratives blanketing our district and spread the message about what we're fighting for. We still need 150 donors to chip in to our Rapid Response Fund. Can you help us out?

Thanks for standing on the right side of history.
