Five of the six most recent Massachusetts governors have been Republicans, and with popular Dem AG Maura Healey running to unseat the current Republican Governor, we’re looking at another AG race in a state that has a history of electing statewide Republican officials. We can’t take anything for granted this year in light of what we’ve seen coming out of Virginia.

We need to keep Massachusetts’ AG seat blue. Massachusetts deserves leaders who will protect and expand upon the progress that AG Healey has made in important areas like consumer protection, climate action, reproductive justice, and more. We’ve seen what happens when Republicans seize control at the state level. In his first months in office, Virginia’s new Republican AG Jason Miyares is dismantling years of progress made by Dem AG Mark Herring on everything from voting access, reproductive care, women’s rights, and civil rights. We need to act now to prevent that from happening in other states around the country.
