Help our elections. Become an election observer.
Hi John,
Are you passionate about ensuring Wisconsin’s elections are accessible and fair for all? If so, consider volunteering as an election observer with our partners at the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin (LWVWI) to monitor polling places during the spring and fall elections.
Election observers play a vital role in making sure everyone can have a voice at the ballot box. The 2022 Election Observation Program will focus on:
Ensuring there is no disenfranchisement
Monitoring the voter experience
Monitoring the absentee ballot counting process
Training Information: The election observer training happens online. The LWVWI will provide training materials, assign volunteers to one or multiple polling places to observe, and provide a reporting form to record observations.
Requirements: You will need to be available to volunteer for a minimum of two hours on Election Day. Election observers will need a cell phone to use while volunteering and have their own transportation to and from their assigned polling location. There are also opportunities to be a "roving" observer and observe at multiple polling sites. Rovers need to be available to volunteer for at least four hours on Election Day.
